Midnight Purple color PPF: a full-body color change with stone-chip protection
A full-body install of our Paint Metallic Midnight Purple TPU color PPF — one film that changes the color and protects the factory paint.
Why color PPF for this build
The brief was a deep purple that reads almost black in shade and flashes violet in sunlight, without giving up the chip resistance of clear PPF. A pigmented TPU film does both jobs in a single layer, so there is no need to stack a vinyl wrap under clear film.
How the metallic reads
The metallic flake sits under the self-healing top coat. In diffuse light the color looks like solid aubergine; under direct light the flake lifts and the highlights turn violet. Edges and recesses stay dark, which keeps body lines crisp.
Installation notes
TPU is thicker and stiffer than PVC vinyl, so installers work wet with slip solution and set panels with a tack solution. Wrapping edges by 3–5 mm keeps the original color hidden at panel gaps. Light swirls from installation level out with heat after the film has settled.
Care
Wash with pH-neutral shampoo, avoid abrasive polishes, and use heat (sun or warm water) to recover minor scratches. Ceramic coatings rated for PPF can be applied after 7 days.
